Vietnam VCCI Honors Outstanding Entrepreneurs
Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held a ceremony in Hanoi on October 10 to honor 100 outstanding entrepreneurs for their contributions to corporate development and improving workers’ living conditions.
The event is considered one of the most remarkable activities to celebrate the Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day, October 13.
President Nguyen Minh Triet attended the ceremony and presented the Thanh Giong Cup to the most excellent representatives of the Vietnamese business community.
Vietnam is expected to reach GDP growth of 5% this year, Triet said, adding that this requires more efforts of the local business circle.
Speaking at the event, the VCCI Chairman Vu Tien Loc said, as of late 2008, Vietnam had 376,644 enterprises and 3.74 million household businesses.
The country now has 14,500 cooperatives, including 7,860 non-agricultural ones, Loc added.
