Vietnam’s Rubber Exports to China up 18.4% to 510,245 Tons in 2009

Vietnam exported 510,245 tons of rubber worth US$856.7 million to China in 2009, up 18.4% in volume but down 19% in value against previous year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
 
The figure accounted for 69.8% of Vietnam’s total rubber export volume and helped China remain as the biggest importer of Vietnamese rubber.
 
Last year, Vietnam raked in US$1.2 billion from exporting 731,393 tons of rubber, down 23.5% in value despite an increase of 11% in volume, on decreases in prices.
