Vietnam-Taiwan Trade Valued at $3.94B in H1

Trade between Vietnam and Taiwan stood at $3.94 billion in the first half of this year, including the former’s trade deficit of $2.62 billion.
 
Vietnam exported $664.88 million worth of goods to Taiwan in H1, soaring 38.2% on-year and imported $3.28 billion, up 11.5%, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on its website August 11.
 
The Southeast Asian nation’s main imports were apparel worth $434.52 million, up 13.4% on-year, petroleum products worth $419.6 million, down 28.5% and machinery, equipment and spare parts worth $363.4 million, up 42.8%.
 
Vietnam’s main exports were rice worth $111.49 million, up 213.4% on-year, apparel worth $78.99 million, down 25%, and seafood worth $45.08 million, up 27.6%.
 
The two-way trade stood at $7.37 billion in 2009, including Vietnam’s trade deficit of $5.13 billion, the MoIT said in February. (Vinanet)
