Vietnam will exempt duties on certain kinds of goods for their first imports from October 1, according to the government’s Decree No. 87 on guiding the implementation of some articles of the Export and Import Law.

The beneficiaries will include water supply systems, air conditioner systems, anti-fire systems, and waste and wastewater treatment systems.

The decree also stated that parcels under express delivery with minimum values for tax calculation in line with the government’s regulations will be exempted from import and export duties from October 1.

The Ministry of Finance will levy import taxes on many kinds of goods such as beds, wardrobe, lavabos, bathtubs, kitchen tools, carpets, golf equipment, audiovisual devices, TV and refrigerators from Oct. 1 instead of exempting the duties for their first imports currently, the decree regulated.
