Vietnam Central City Tourism Outstrips Target in Jan-October
Vietnamese central coastal city of Danang received more than 1.589 million tourists in the first ten months of this year, including 336,000 foreigners and surpassing 10% of the year’s plan.
The city’s tourism industry earned revenues of VND1.051 trillion in the Jan-Oct period, rising 62% from a year earlier.
The increased tourist number and revenues are mostly attributed by the city’s tourism promotion activities and the opening of more flights in recent months, said the city’s Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism.
Danang city is expected to receive around 1,000 foreign tourists a week for the rest months of 2010 following the opening of three more international air routes from Hong Hong, Seoul and Taiwan.
Danang city targets to receive 8.1 million tourists in the next ten years, including 1.4 million foreigners. (Vietnam & World Economy)
