Int’l Visitors to Vietnam Increase 19.5 Pct in Jan-Feb

Vietnam received over 1 million international visitors in the first two months, up 19.5 percent over the same period last year.
 
Of those, visits for the purpose of international travel were nearly 626,000, up 14.2 percent over the same period of last year; visits for work over 160,000, up 1.4 percent; and visits to see relatives were about 196,000, up 52.8 percent.
 
China remains the largest market of Vietnam's tourism, mainly entering by road. In the period, 191,000 Chinese visited Vietnam, up 39 percent over the same period last year. The number of tourists to Vietnam from other countries and regions has also increased respectively: Korea 102,500, up 17.4 percent; and 96,600 U.S. arrivals, up 8.4 percent.
