On August 11, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Majesty’s Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland held a signing ceremony which marks the UK’s financial support for an important project to review Vietnam’s business laws.
At the signing ceremony, Mr Hoang Van Dung, VCCI Standing Vice President said: “Within this grant agreement, VCCI supported by the Government Office of Vietnam will lead the project to review and develop recommendation papers and reports on the impact of 16 important laws to improve the investment and business environment for domestic and international businesses as well as citizens, which will be submitted to the Prime Minister by December 2011.
Ms Kate Harrisson, Charge d’Affaires at the British Embassy in Hanoi said: “The grant agreement demonstrates the high level of mutual cooperation which has been established between the two sides. The project will support the further improvement of the business environment and the legal system which governs it in Vietnam. This will boost the sustainable development of Vietnamese enterprises and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam’s economy in an increasingly globalised world”.
