Con Dao to Welcome 200,000 Arrivals by 2020
Con Dao, an Islands District of Ba Rịa-Vung Tau province, is expected to welcome 200,000 visitors a year from now to 2020, according to the plan approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
The plan, which is the adjusted planning scheme of Con Dao, sets to house some 20,000 residents by 2020 and the figure is to rise to 30,000 by 2030.
Con Dao includes 16 islands and islets, with the largest one being Con Son Island, which are also accessible by plane.
The development of the district must be attached closely with the preservation of historic and cultural relics, forest-maritime ecosystem and national defense and security, according to the plan.
The district will features a multi-centre model which can be divided into preservation area and urban space.
