A Vietnam Goods Week will be held in Germany from June 6 to 16, 2012 by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Metro Cash & Carry Group and the Vietnam Trade Office in Germany. This is a promising opportunity for Vietnamese exporters to bring their products to German consumers in particular and EU consumers in general, and to introduce Vietnamese brands and boost sales of Vietnamese goods in the demanding EU market.

Mr Dang Hoang Hai, Director of the European Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: Germany is among the largest economies in Europe and has very strict commodity standard requirements. Therefore, if Vietnamese products are successful in Germany, they can be successful throughout the EU market. This is really a great opportunity for Vietnamese businesses.

Most exhibits during this event are Vietnamese EU-qualified brands like green grapefruit, Hoa Loc sweet mango, Tien Giang papaya, shrimp, basa fish, and Trung Nguyen coffee. Frozen seafood - a favourite dish among European consumers and a strong product for Vietnam - will be displayed at Metro supermarkets in 12 major cities in Germany.
