Samsung Succeeds through Technological Creativity

Samsung has begun its image revolution in the high resolution TV era with its Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) technology. This is a technology which greatly improves image clarity by increasing the number of input pixels. Samsung’s algorithm creates a sharp image with a six-time density enhancer to increase the number of input pixels. Samsung’s DNIe technology holds 110 patents with specific features to create an image optimiser. DNIe technology-based televisions of at least 25 and 29 inches will carry a three year guarantee.

With its technological creativity, Samsung has made significant achievements in the market for electronic goods. In Vietnam, total sales of televisions in 2003 saw an increase of 64 per cent against 2002, while export volume increased by 31 per cent. The company’s revenues in 2003 were put at VND 1,170 billion (about US$74.522 million), of which VND 916 billion (about US$58.343 million) came from televisions.

In an effort to cut its production costs and better meet market demand, Samsung has up-scaled its productivity to seven times its initial design capacity over the last three years.
