According to the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has 155 tourism projects with an approved area of over 3,921ha, with total registered capital investment of over VND36,649 billion, equal to about US$10.733 billion.
Accordingly, the total disbursed capital of all the projects has so far reached 6,762.5 billion and over US$330 million. Out of them, 14 projects have partly operated, partly been being built; 38 projects under construction, 58 projects are waiting for land.
In regard to preventive forests, special-use forests, commercial forests, there are 40 other tourism projects with a total area of over 3,259ha, and total registered invested capital of over VND 12,976 billion.
The major projects are concentrated in Xuyen Moc and Con Dao districts; Xuyen Moc alone has 103 licensed tourism projects that are still valid, including 5 foreign-invested projects and 98 domestic-capital projects,with a total registered capital of VND10,664 billion and US4.734 billion.
Tourism projects invested in the district offer full services, from accommodation to recreation and entertainment, such as games on the beach, marina, water skiing, casino, shopping, nightlife, golf, strong feeling games, theaters, convention centers, etc....major tourism areas such as Saigon-Binh Chau - Ho Coc, Ho Tram Beach Resort & Spa and Sanctuary were put into operation with many high-quality services, Xuyen Moc district is increasingly attracting high-spending visitors and also foreign tourists.
To create favorable conditions for investors to accelerate their projects, Xuyen Moc district has planned infrastructure investment such as transportation, lighting, water supply, dikes against coastal erosion, infrastructure and logistics to serve projects in Ho Tram; conversed part of agricultural and forest land into land for tourism development to form three main tourist routes: Binh Chau - Ho Linh, Loc An - Ho Coc, Ray river- Xuyen Moc- Hoa river - Kinh river...
In Con Dao district, a Vietnamese-Russian tourism resort project is under phase 2 of construction, accordingly, luxury villas of the project are under implementation at Ben Dam region.
The project is invested by the Russian Vietnamese Co Ltd. in an area of 7.2 hectares, divided into two phases. After seven months of Phase 1 with a 5-story hotel comprising 125 rooms and related ancillary facilities such as a bar, souvenir shop, and surrounding landscape. The construction company has completed more than 35 percent of the workload; greening 100 percent of the land allocated for the project with about 2,500 fruit trees and various types of trees for shade.
The second phase of the project will be constructed in an area of 2ha, comprising 10 luxurious villas with a total investment capital of VND120 billion. Estimated construction time is 24 months. Along with the construction of Phase 2, the company also plans to invest into high-speed train production to transport passengers from the mainland to Con Dao, as well as use solar energy to serve the lighting at the resort.
