HCM City Welcomes 2.4 Million Int’l Visitors

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City said international visitor arrivals to the city reached 2.4 million in the first eight months of 2013, up 1.4 percent year on year and equal to 60 percent of the 2013 full-year plan.
 
A representative from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said tour expenses to the city declined 25 - 30 percent over 2012 on the city’s tourism stimulus programmes plus air and overland transportation fare and service discounts for tourists. Therefore, the largest city of Vietnam not only saw an increase in domestic tourists but also a significant rise in international visitors in the first eight months of 2013.
