VND1,254 Billion to Build Phu Quoc Int’l Passenger Port
The Ministry of Transport and Kien Giang province are studying the construction of an international passenger seaport in Phu Quoc Island capable of receiving ships carrying 5,000 to 6,000 passengers and container vessels.
The province has asked Vingroup to invest VND1,254 billion in the project. To speed up the project, Deputy Transport Minister Nguyen Van Cong asked the Vietnam Maritime Administration (Vinamarine) to work with Portcoast and Vingroup to study financial plans for the project. The report on the project must be submitted to the Ministry of Transport by October 20, which will forward it to the Government for approval.
