Agriculture-Forestry-Aquatic Exports Exceed US$11 Bln
The agriculture-forestry-aquatic exports in May was estimated at US$2.37 billion, bringing the total export turnover over the past five months of the year to US$11.4 billion, a year-on-year down of 7.3 percent.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam earned US$5.62 billion, US$2.41 billion and US$2.69 billion from exporting agricultural, aquatic and forestry products, down 7.4 percent, down 17 percent and up 7 percent, respectively.
Two key agricultural products of rice and coffee experienced sharp decreases of 14.6 percent and 38 percent, respectively.
The nation’s agriculture-forestry-aquaculture import value over the past five months saw an increase of 8.1 percent, reaching US$9.25 billion.
The imports of some key products attained US$7.13 billion, up 6.1 percent.
