The State Bank of Viet Nam on August 12 decided to increase the amplitude of the exchange rate between the Vietnamese dong and the U.S. dollar to +/-2 percent from the current +/-1 percent.

This is the 3rd time this year the State Bank adjusted the amplitude of the exchange rate in accordance with the developments of the domestic and international financial markets.

The latest decision was made following the sharp weakening of the Chinese yuan against the U.S. dollar.

With the new amplitude, the exchange rate will range from VND21,240 to 22,106, according to the Bank.
