Agricultural Exports Value Nearly US$2.5 Billion in June
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said the export turnover of agricultural, forest and aquatic products was projected at nearly US$2.5 billion in June 2016, totalling US$15.05 billion in the six months of 2016, up 5.4 per cent year on year.
In particular, agricultural exports brought in US$7.32 billion in the six-month period, up 5.1 per cent year on year. Aquatic exports fetched US$3.07 billion in the period, up 3.8 per cent, and forest exports valued US$3.33 billion, down 0.1 per cent.
The United States, Japan, China and South Korea were four leading importers of Vietnamese aquatic products in the first six months of 2016, accounting for 52.81 per cent of total aquatic export value. Strong growth was seen with shipments to the US (10.9 per cent), China (49.06 per cent), Thailand (9.92 per cent) and the UK (8.83 per cent).
