Vietnam’s Top 50 Brands Worth US$7.26 Billion

This statement was made by Brand Finance - a world’s leading brand valuation company - at the Brand Finance Forum 2016, themed “Brand-oriented business operation, success and failure”, held in Hanoi by Brand Finance and Mibrand, a leading brand consultant.
The presence of big brands in this list showed that Vietnamese companies have gradually caught up with global trends of investment for intangible corporate values like brand value.
 
Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) retains its top place with a brand value of US$1.01 billion in 2016. This is the second consecutive year Vinamilk is the most valuable brand in Vietnam.
 
Vietnam Military Telecommunications Group (Viettel Telecom) is the runner-up with a brand value of US$973 million in 2016, followed by Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) with US$564 million of brand value, climbing two places from the 5th position in 2015.
 
Top 10 most valuable brands also include Vietnam Mobile Telecom Services Company (Mobifone) worth US$539 million, Vinhomes, Sabeco, Masan Consumer, FPT, Vinaphone and Vietinbank. In the Top 10 list, three are private companies, namely Vinhomes (real estate), Masan (foods) and FPT (information technology).
 
Mr Lai Tien Manh, Director of Mibrand Company and Representative of Brand Finance in Vietnam, said, a lot of Vietnamese companies are not fully aware of the intangible value of brand. Many companies have missed M&A opportunities since the brand value is not fully calculated into deal value. “We hope that businesses will understand, effectively use and satisfactorily enjoy benefits from their intangible property of brand. Our long-term goals are making the brand value officially recognised as a corporate intangible asset from which the business benefits,” he stressed.
