PM Requires Greater Efforts to Achieve Set Plans for 2016
The PM proposed a number of measures to fulfill set plans of 2016 and 2017 at the Government's monthly plenary session on November 29.
To achieve the goal of the GDP growth of 6.3-6.5 per cent in 2016, the nation has to attain the growth in the fourth quarter at 7.1-7.3 per cent, he said, demanding the ministries and agencies in charge of agriculture, industry, construction and service realize effective and synchronous measures to achieve the set growth rate.
At the meeting, the PM assigned the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Finance and Industry and Trade and the State Bank of Viet Nam to closely follow the international and domestic performances and coordinate to maintain the macro-economic stability and control inflation under 5 per cent.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has to accelerate trade promotion, expand the export market, especially ASEAN, negotiate with other nations to tackle technical barriers and make plans to respond to unexpected happenings of the international and regional commerce.
He asked ministries, agencies and localities to continue launching measures to tackle obstacles and difficulties and address comments of the businesses to boost production in December as well as organize a meeting to discuss ways to deal with ineffective projects of the State-owned enterprises (SOEs).
PM Phuc required supervising and inspecting the production and investment of the SOEs, environmental protection and ensuring food safety, fire prevention and social order.
