On March 20, 2019, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Minister Tran Tuan Anh received Mr. Lu Xinshe, Communist Party Secretary of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.

At the meeting, Minister Tuan Anh appreciated Guangxi province’s leading role in multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam. He stressed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam always attaches great importance to developing cooperative relations with Guangxi and is ready to become a bridge for Guangxi and other Chinese localities to reach other ASEAN countries.

According to Guangxi statistics, Vietnam - Guangxi trade always accounts for over one-fourth of total bilateral trade value between Vietnam and China, reaching US$26.73 billion in 2018, up 7.96% year on year.

Minister Tuan Anh hoped Guangxi would further facilitate customs clearance for Vietnamese exported agricultural products, and ask the General Administration of Customs of China to soon grant official import permit for agricultural products that Guangxi has huge demands for, to provide better ground for enterprises of the two sides to expand cooperation.

Secretary Lu Xinshe said that the two sides have a great advantage in strengthening border-gate trade on both ground and via seaport. In the coming time, Vietnam and Guangxi should further build and connect border gate systems and enhance trade facilitation to meet increasing demand for merchandise exchange.
