VSS Presents at 36th ASSA Board Meeting

Following the success of 35th ASSA Board Meeting hosted by the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) in Vietnam, the 36th ASSA Meeting took place in Brunei from September 17-19, 2019.

The gathering is an opportunity for social security organizations to exchange experience and information on such topics as “Information and Communication Technology: Empowering Social Security Innovations” and local practical experience of each member nation. The Vietnam Social Security (VSS) delivered a presentation on “VSS deploys a multimedia interaction system with people and businesses”. Other presentations included deploying the information system for the Myanmar Social Security Board (SSB), enhancing health and disease prevention in the social security system - Thailand Social Security Office (SSO), and the Social Synergy Program - Malaysia Social Security Organization (SOCSO).

The ASEAN Social Security Association (ASSA) is a regional forum of social security organizations of Southeast Asian countries, established in 1998 with 20 member organizations to date, aiming for promoting the development of social security in the region in consonance with the aspirations, laws and regulations of the member countries. The objectives of ASSA are promoting regional cooperation in all areas of social security activities; exchanging experiences and information on social security; and cooperating in the defense, promotion and development of social security schemes through training, seminars, consultations and dialogues, among others.
