IBM and Lenovo Introduce New Laptop IBM Thinkpad
In June 15, 2005, IBM and Lenovo group introduced the new laptop IBM Thinkpad X41 Tablet - the most secure computer at present, and the Thinkpad T43. The IBM Thinkpad X41 is very thin (1.14 inch) and light (3.5 pounds) with the latest Microsoft operating system based on Windows XP Professional and more features such as the inputting of data by Tablet Digitizer Pen, plus voice and handwriting recognition, longer standard battery life, 1.5 GB memory and stronger graphics. The T43 is 1 inch thick and weighs 4.5 pounds. It has integrated Fingerprint Reader for security, with the newest anti- virus software, data restoring security features and modern energy management for high capacity work.
The personal computer department at IBM was transferred to Lenovo- a leading personal computer company in China - at the end of 2004 to establish a new company with a 13.4 per cent stock of IBM. Since then Lenovo has become the third biggest personal computer company in the world.
