Ben Thanh Rubber Joint Stock Company (BERUBCO), formerly known as Giai Phong Rubber Enterprise, was established in 1976 under the Department of Industry of Ho Chi Minh City. Over 45 years of development, BERUBCO has affirmed its solid position and prestigious brand in the Vietnamese rubber industry and steadily expanded to regional markets.

Quality is the foundation

Using advanced quality management processes, modern production technologies and international standards, BERUBCO has provided domestic and international markets with many high-quality products such as steel-cord rubber conveyor belts, fabric-cord rubber conveyor belts, Courroie ropes and other technical rubber products. With its focus on quality, since its inception, BERUBCO has focused on building product quality according to Jis and Din standards, applying ISO 9001:2015 quality management system (certified by Det Norske Veritas - DNV), investing technological upgrades, and strengthening technical management measures. It has also launched emulation movements to inspire technical innovations to bring high-quality products of international standards to the market.

Determining that people are a precious property, BERUBCO has also paid attention to building a skilled technical workforce to comprehensively meet customer requirements for rubber production. The firm has always ensured technical, economic and price requirements from the stage of consulting on input selection to product design, thereby giving the best benefits to customers.

With ongoing research and improvement efforts, the quality of BERUBCO's products and services has been significantly improved, and is highly appreciated by domestic and foreign customers. With its product diversity and high applicability, BERUBCO's technical rubber products have been widely consumed in the domestic market and exported to foreign countries such as the United States, China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Egypt. Mr. Nguyen Tran Nghiem Vu, General Director of BERUBCO, said if everything goes as smoothly as expected, the company will increase export shipments of technical rubber products to other potential markets by tapping advantages of new-generation free trade agreements such as the CPTPP and the EVFTA. In addition to diversifying consumption markets, in the next 2-3 years, BERUBCO will invest in more factories and more conveyor belt production lines to diversify conveyor sizes; develop technical rubber lines for the automotive industry, glass joint, floor cover and tapis.

The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak has exerted a significant impact on the global economy since early 2020. As a manufacturer and trader of rubber products which are widely used in many key industries (food, coal mining, cement, fertilizer, mechanical engineering, agriculture and fishery), economic fluctuations have directly affected BERUBCO's business activities. To overcome all difficulties in the way, with strong determination, shrewd leadership, and a clear and specific approach, BERUBCO achieved revenue of VND289 billion in 2020, the highest in five years, up 6.94% higher than in 2019. Its net profit rose 7.91% to VND21 billion.

In the first six months of 2021, the company's net revenue exceeded VND168 billion, up nearly 17% year on year, and its profit after tax jumped 16.8% to more than VND12.5 billion. These impressive figures also partly show BERUBCO’s right rubber business policies, which focus on sale and supply of rubber products, hence creating a driving force for revenue growth and ensuring income and jobs for employees in the context of the pandemic.

Full responsibility to community and society

During its 45-year development, BERUBCO has always followed its business philosophy of sustainable development coupled with social responsibility. This has helped establish the image of a friendly and responsible BERUBCO to the community.

Driven by its right business philosophy, BERUBCO always upholds the sense of responsibility by joining hands with localities to protect the environment for sustainable development; focusing on investing in environmental treatment and pollution control systems and carrying out many measures on environmental protection; and conducting factory environmental inspections. All environmental and production criteria completely meet standards, thereby ensuring a safe working environment for factory employees while leaving no harm to the environment and people's lives.

At the same time, BERUBCO always upholds the spirit of charity and unity in community development and donates to local development funds and construction projects; actively joins charity activities, accompanies other local businesses in meaningful volunteer activities such as building charitable houses; funds the Railway Social Fund, the Fund for the Poor, the Disaster Prevention Fund and the Fund for the Blind in Cu Chi district; delivers relief to flood victims; and visits and presents gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers.

In 2018 - 2020, BERUBCO spent nearly VND200 million on local social security events, hence shedding the light on the beauty of BERUBCO culture and BERUBCO people in the new era. “For BERUBCO as a whole and each employee in particular, pro-community development events are not only a responsibility but a natural act, an inherently necessary action, stemming from a sincere, open heart to the community. This is also an integral part of our production and business direction towards the goal of more sustainable and effective development in the new period,” General Director Nguyen Tran Nghiem Vu emphasized.
