As a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of National Defense, Thai Son Corporation One Member Limited Liability Company (Thaison Group) operates in a variety of industries under the model of parent company and subsidiaries with more than 16 member units. During its 32-year journey of development (1991-2023), Thaison Group has become one of the leading military enterprises, contributing to the enhancement of national defense potential and socio-economic development of the country. Colonel Nguyen Van Bac, Chairman and General Director of Thaison Group, had an interview with our reporter to share about these achievements.

Can you share more specifically about Thaison Group's outstanding achievements over the past 32 years? To develop in the right direction, which tasks and objectives have you prioritized?
During 32 years of development, we have overcome all challenges and affirmed our position in domestic and international markets. Annually, the group achieves revenue from VND2,500 to 3,000 billion and contributes nearly VND300 billion to the state budget. The average income of our employees is over VND9.1 million/person/month.
We were honored to be commended by the Party, State and Ministry of National Defense with many noble awards such as Second and Third Class Labor Orders; flags and certificates of merit of the Prime Minister; and Certificates of merit from central ministries and branches. For many years, we have been in the VNR 500, ranking the Top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam.
On the new development roadmap, with the spirit of "A pioneer is a soldier", Thaison Group has focused on developing key fields such as construction, trade, import and export, vocational training and demining. Besides, we have expanded joint ventures and cooperation, improved competitiveness, and contributed to building a strong defense economy and prosperous country.
How is the application of scientific advances and innovation at Thaison Group? How is your human resource development?
We have always focused on the application of techniques and technologies to serve production and business and improve competitiveness. We aim to innovate the management process, promoting the application of science and technology to create a driving force to encourage production, increase productivity and improve product quality.
Besides, we have paid due attention to training to improve the quality of human resources. Currently, our staff basically meets the requirements of the assigned tasks. Professional workers account for more than 20%. Direct labor in production and business accounts for 76%. Labor under 45 years old accounts for 61% of the total number of employees.
Thaison Group is also a leader in implementing social security and policies. Can you share more about these activities?
Over the years, Thaison Group has contributed to and implemented many social security programs with a total amount of over VND50 billion, such as "Spring Soldiers", "Spring Roads of Vietnam", and construction of new rural areas (bridges, concrete roads, etc); supporting poverty alleviation programs.
In addition, we also invest in infrastructure development such as construction of rural bridges, border guard posts, command posts and border patrol roads; supporting overcoming the consequences of bombs and mines after the war and building new countryside.
We also contributed VND30 billion to cultural, educational - training and medical development activities.
What are your orientations, strategies and key solutions for the coming time?
We will continue to promote our strengths, invest in equipment and facilities, improve capacity, be financially self-sufficient, and promote our business areas to increase revenue and profit. We will also enhance competitiveness in construction and installation, trade, service, real estate and vocational training as a foundation for investment in other fields. We will promote export and import of products to serve the needs of consumers.
At the same time, we also pay attention to training and improving the quality of human resources, promote digital transformation, and exploit advantages from digital transformation to develop in line with the general trend.
In particular, Thaison Group will strive to seize opportunities to shift FDI inflows to guide investment and development, thereby serving both economic goals and implementing the strategy of combining socio-economic development with strengthening defense-security potential.
