Vietnam to Boost Trade Ties with Israel
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam co-organized a workshop titled "Doing Business with Israel" on the occasion of the Israel Delegation, led by Minister of Industry, Trade and Employment Raanan Dinur, to the country.
The event, opened on December 21-22 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, has attracted six leading Israel telecommunication enterprises, including Baran Raviv Telecom Ltd, Comverse, ECI Telecom Ltd, Gilat Satellite Networks, RAD Data Communications, and Promonam Trading Ltd.
During the conference, Israel delegates emphasized that Israel is a potential trade partner of Vietnam. They introduced about their market and expressed Israel's wish to cooperate with Vietnam in terms of telecommunication, insurance and policies to hedge risks in import and export.
According to VCCI, trade turnover between the two countries reached $42.328 million in the first six months of 2005. In the period, Vietnam exported $28 million worth of products, which are agricultural products, meat, textile and garment and some other products, meanwhile it imported $14.4 million of machines, plastic and chemical products.
The workshop is expected to boost economic, trade and investment ties between Israel and Vietnam.
