Ha Nam Ninh Customs Holds Talks with Businesses

Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department hosted a regular business dialogue with local importers and exporters. This was an opportunity for the government and relevant authorities to learn about existing hardships, thus promptly instructing, answering or proposing competent authorities to improve appropriate mechanisms and policies.

Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department organized a dialogue with more than 150 importers and exporters in Nam Dinh, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh provinces. According to Ms. Nguyen Thu Nhieu, Director of Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department, the meeting was a good opportunity and an important information exchange channel for Ha Nam Ninh Customs to directly grasp opinions of the business community. It received and resolved 35 questions raised by businesses. In addition to questions answered at the conference, Ha Nam Ninh Customs will give answers in writing to questions that are beyond its authority.

At the conference, Ha Nam Ninh Customs put forth recommendations and common mistakes in carrying out customs procedures like incorrect declaration of type code, incorrect declaration of shipping method code, incorrect declaration of names of importers and exporters, incorrect declaration of quantity of imported and exported goods, failure to handle excess raw materials and supplies, scrap and defective products of processing contracts; notification on the use of duty-free goods, and common errors in physically checking goods.

At the same time, the department also introduced solutions, gave notes to avoid common errors and mistakes, as well as shared experiences to address problems.

With a frank, open and receptive spirit at the meeting, Ha Nam Ninh Customs directly answered matters with respect to customs procedures concerned by businesses, helping them capture and update new policies on customs, tackle obstacles arising from customs procedures as well as practical production, business, import and export activities.
