Moc Chau Recognized as National Tourist Area

Chairman of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Trung Khanh recently announced Decision 1077/QD-BVHTTDL dated April 22, 2024, from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, officially recognizing Moc Chau as a national tourist area. Deputy Minister Ho An Phong handed the Decision to the leaders of Moc Chau and Van Ho districts.

Vice Chairwoman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee, Trang Thi Xuan, emphasized that Moc Chau boasts a prime location, stunning natural landscapes, a cool and fresh climate, and a rich cultural heritage. These attributes present significant potential and advantages for tourism development. The Moc Chau national tourist area is seeing a rapid, sustainable and green transition, with increasingly improved infrastructure and tourism service quality, contributing to job creation and income growth for the local population.

In 2023, the Moc Chau national tourist area welcomed 2.5 million visitors, generating over VND3 trillion in tourism revenue. This tourist destination has been recognized for two consecutive years (2022-2023) by the World Travel Awards as the “World’s Leading Nature Destination.”

A special cultural performance titled “Moc Chau, Van Ho - the Beautiful Plateau” also took place, featuring unique music and dance acts, creating a vibrant and distinctive atmosphere.
