Local Firm Ships 600,000 Pairs of Shoes to EU
Ho Chi Minh City-based An Lac Shoes Joint Stock Co. (Alsimex) has so far this year exported 600,000 pairs of canvas shoes to the EU market, a year-on-year increase of 20 per cent.
Alsimex has signed shoe export contracts with European partners through to May, exporting an average monthly amount of 200,000 pairs.
The company earned VND4 billion (US$253,164) in domestic revenues in 2005 and plans to increase it to VND5 billion (US$316,455) this year.
To increase its sales in the domestic market, the company has expanded its distribution network of shops and sales agents and distributed its products to supermarkets such as Metro and VinatexMart.
