September 25 in Hanoi, Numerous guests flocked to JW Marriott Hanoi to immerse themselves in the GBA Oktoberfest 2025 – the largest annual cultural event organized by The German Business Association (GBA) in Vietnam. The festival is co-hosted by the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam) and JW Marriott Hanoi, under the patronage of the German Embassy in Hanoi.

This year, the event is even more remarkable as it marks both the 30th anniversary of the German Business Association in Vietnam and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany. The opening ceremony in Hanoi was honored by the presence of H.E. Helga Margarete Barth, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam, and Mr. Vu Quang Minh, former Ambassador of Vietnam to Germany. GBA Oktoberfest 2025 in Hanoi is not just about beer and gastronomy; it stands as a vibrant testament to the strong friendship and deep cultural ties between the two nations.

The Oktoberfest celebration in 2025 continues to be hosted across Vietnam – Hanoi, Danang, and Ho Chi Minh City – bringing festive cheer that further strengthens Vietnam–Germany relations in an open and joyful atmosphere.

On opening night, over 1200 guests enjoyed freshly imported Bavarian beer, tapped directly from wooden kegs in line with Munich’s 200-year-old Oktoberfest tradition, accompanied by the authentic flavors of grilled sausages, Pretzels, and German cold cuts. The festive spirit reached its peak with electrifying performances by the O’zapft band from Germany and Austria, delivering classic Oktoberfest tunes that set the entire hall dancing.

Many attendees, especially women, dressed in traditional Bavarian Dirndl attire, adding to the colorful and dynamic setting. The festival exceeded expectations, creating unforgettable moments for families, friends, and international guests raising their glasses together and experiencing the true spirit of Bavaria in the heart of Hanoi.

For the past three decades, GBA has played a pivotal role in connecting the German and Vietnamese business communities, fostering cooperation in economics, culture, and education. Oktoberfest remains one of the most vivid symbols of this cultural exchange, offering Vietnamese people and international friends a chance to experience a piece of German heritage right here in Hanoi.
