On November 29, 2025, AEON Vietnam held the Kick-off Ceremony and Commencement of Technical Infrastructure Construction for the AEON My Tho Shopping Center (SC), which is scheduled to open in 2027. The project marks AEON’s continued expansion in the Mekong Delta, aiming to provide a modern retail experience, enrich customers’ lifestyle and support local socio-economic development.
The Kick-off Ceremony and Construction of Technical Infrastructure of AEON My Tho SC was honored to have the participation of: Mrs. Chau Thi My Phuong - Deputy Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh - Former Deputy Secretary of Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee, Former Chairman of the Tien Giang; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dieu - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee; alongside former provincial leaders, members of the provincial People's Committee, Party Standing Committee, representatives of departments and organizations of Dong Thap province, and representatives of partners.

Mr. Tezuka Daisuke – Executive Officer, Chief Vietnam Business Officer of AEON (Japan), General Director of AEON Vietnam shared at the Ceremony: “With an investment of over VND 1,000 billion, we believe that the AEON My Tho Shipping Center project will not only help promote the local economic development but also is expected to create more than 1,000 new jobs, promote the consumption of high-quality products from Dong Thap Province, and make a positive contribution to the sustainable development of the region.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dieu - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee: “The Kick-off ceremony of the AEON My Tho Shopping Center marks a highly significant milestone, representing an important step forward in developing modern trade and services, as well as promoting the socio-economic growth of the province. We also expect AEON Vietnam to work closely with the local authorities to develop a roadmap for bringing the province’s products—especially its signature agricultural specialties—into the supply chain of the entire AEON system.”

AEON My Tho SC is strategically located along major transport corridors, including National Routes 1A and 30, Route N2, the HCMC–Trung Luong–My Thuan Expressway, and the Cao Lanh–An Huu Expressway, ensuring convenient access from Ho Chi Minh City and across the Mekong Delta. Designed as a medium-sized shopping center, it serves as a key project within AEON’s expansion strategy for the Mekong Delta region.
Spanning an estimated gross floor area (GFA) of approximately 51,543 m², the shopping center will feature ample parking space for nearly 310 cars and 1,290 motorcycles, AEON My Tho is expected to fully meet the shopping and entertainment needs of local residents.
Located at the gateway to the Mekong Delta, Dong Thap has long been shaped by its deep connection to nature and waterways. Inspired by this spirit of harmony and transformation, the design of AEON My Tho incorporates linear and origami-inspired geometric forms to convey innovation, flexibility, and modernity.
Dynamic façade treatments and sharply angled canopies echo the rhythmic folds of origami, while a curate nighttime lighting further enhance the contemporary and urban character of the development. AEON My Tho aspires to become a new regional iconic — a destination that bridges the Mekong Delta with the future, symbolizing the fusion of local cultural identity and a modern urban lifestyle.
