Sumitomo Mitsui Licensed to Provide E-banking Services

The State Bank of Vietnam has recently given a green light to the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation-Ho Chi Minh City branch to supply the electronic banking services via Internet.
 
Accordingly, clients can check general information and the bank’s reports, forex trading contracts, loans, deposits, import-export payments, and account balances via the Internet.
 
Additionally, clients can transfer accounts abroad or domestically and others.
 
Currently, Japan’s third largest bank with initial capital of US$15 million has opened two representative offices in Vietnam since 1994.
 
There are 28 branches and 46 representative offices of foreign banks in the country.

SBV
