The Thai Charoen Pokphand Group (CP) wants to extend its business in Vietnam in the field of Telecommunications, and also IT, post and cable television technology, noted CP Group President Supachai Chearavanont with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Miniter-cum-Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem at a meeting yesterday in Hanoi.

The Executive General Director of the group thanked Khiem for his pledges to work closely with the CP Group and offer favorable conditions for its investment in infrastructure, soft technology and human resources.

The group has done business in Vietnam for 10 years with capital totaling $120 million. Up to 90 per cent of this capital is for the eight projects in Dong Nai, which produce animal feeds, frozen seafood, food, corn seeds, chicken breeds and others.

Since its beginning as Thailand's seed supplier in the early 1920's, the Charoen Pokphand Group, has won world renown as "Asia's leading globally-committed conglomerate" focused on two main business streamlines: Production and Processing (Agri-business) and Service (Telecommunications, Logistics and Retailing).
