Vietnam, Laos Pledge Further Telecom and IT Cooperation

Vietnam’s Ministry of Post and Telecom and Laos’ Ministry of Communication, Transport, Post and Construction held a workshop to exchange experiences in the telecom and IT field in Laos’ capital Vientiane, on March 12.

 

The workshop entitled “State management of post, telecom and information technology”, the first of its kind between the two countries, attracted about 200 officials, business executives and representatives from relevant agencies of the two countries.

 

Addressing the event, Lao Deputy Minister of Communication, Transport, Post and Construction Sithong Thongkeo stressed the workshop was a good opportunity for Laos to learn about Vietnam’s experiences developing the post, telecom and IT sectors to integrate into the region and the world.

 

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Post and Telecom Nguyen Thanh Hung expressed his hope to further traditional relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, boosting cooperation and mutual assistance in the development and reform of post, telecom and IT sectors of each country.

 

Participants discussed regulations and management of post, telecom and IT, as well as WTO accession. (VNA)
