APEC 2006 Review Conference: VCCI President Receives 2nd Labour Order
On April 10, 2007, a Review Conference on APEC 2006 was held at the International Convention Centre, 243 organisations and individuals have been awarded, including related ministries, Security Sub Committee, VCCI, and Hanoi People’s Committee.
VCCI President Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of APEC CEO Summit 2006 has received the Order of Labour Second Class from the President. In addition, 23 VCCI units and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.
APEC 2006 is regarded as one of the most important events in Vietnam, with the APEC Economic Leaders Summit as the climax elevating Vietnam in the international area. Other activities sponsored by VCCI such as ABAC, CEO Summit, and Doing Business with Vietnam, created new business opportunities, especially for the Vietnamese business community in the current stage of WTO membership and economic integration.
According to observers, APEC 2006 in Vietnam was most successful in three fields: meaning, reception and organisation, and in both bilateral and multilateral relations. VCCI’s contribution to the success has demonstrated the will of business community for economic integration. The APEC CEO Summit in Vietnam reached a record, in the number of participants, with some 1,200 representatives (700 foreign). Through ABAC, CEO Summit and Doing Business with Vietnam, foreign investors have a completely new image of Vietnam.
