Vietnam to Get More Investment, Aid from Switzerland

The Switzerland government has pledged to assist Vietnam in water usage management, intellectual property protection and finalizing the World trade Organization (WTO) commitments, heard the meeting between Vietnamese Vice President Truong My Hoa and Economic Minister Doris Leuthard of Switzerland in Hanoi July 15.
 
Swiss enterprises asked for their long-term investment into the country’s finance, machinery manufacture, service and processing industry.
 
Doris Leuthard, who accompanied by a business mission to Vietnam, said Swiss firms highly appreciate Vietnam’s potentials and investment environment.
 
The Vietnamese Vice President, who also met with Doris Leuthard during her visit to Switzerland in June, affirmed that the Vietnamese government would continuously complete its legal framework to create the most favorable conditions for foreign investors including Swiss businesses.
 
Hoa also praised the Switzerland government’s assistance to Vietnamese poor people, disable children, and calamity victims.
 
During Hoa’s visit to Switzerland last month, Doris Leuthard assured that Switzerland places a high priority on development aid for Vietnam’s poverty reduction, healthcare and education development projects, and the country will further help Vietnam with financial and banking reform, tourism promotion, preservation of historical relics and environmental protection.
