Vietnam Invests Nearly US$1.2Bln Abroad
Vietnamese companies are estimated to have invested US$1.18 billion in 217 projects in foreign countries and territories, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) said.
In July, Vietnamese-based firms injected over US$200 million into 32 overseas projects.
Vietnamese investors spent 64 per cent of total investment capital on industrial production, followed by agriculture industry with 22.6 per cent and next services sector with the reminder, it said.
Laos is the largest recipient of Vietnamese cash with US$555 million in 76 projects while Algeria is followed up with one US$243-million project invested by PetroVietnam, and Cambodia with 22 projects at US$80.7 million.
Vietnamese enterprises are expected to disburse around US$100 million in its investment abroad this year, up 25 per cent on-year, according to the MPI.
The Southeast-Asian country is likely to pump between US$350 and US$400 million into foreign markets next year, while the disbursement capital in the year will be about from US$150 to US$200 million, the MPI said. (VnEconomy)
