E-commerce Benefits Enterprises' Operation

E-commerce is playing an increasingly important role in social life because it is the swiftest and most efficient transaction method and is capable of exploiting all resources. The Vietnam business network, www.vietnamenterprises.com.vn, has been operated since early 2006 and has admitted more than 1,000 members.
 
In June 2007, Vietnamenterprises solemnly granted the “Vietnamese Enterprise of Prestige – Quality in 2007” certifications for 110 member companies. The selection and surveying programme is very strict and serious to generate new drives to push up the development of the Vietnamese enterprises to maintain and develop their products and services meeting the international standards after the WTO accession.
 
The Vietnam Business Forum met representatives of “Vietnamese Enterprise of Prestige – Quality in 2007” winners.
 
“Increasing flexibility in business operations,” Mr. Ly Viet Cuong, Director of Nam Phuong Trade and Tourism Service Co. Ltd
“We have a great honour to win this title. We took part in Vietnamenterprises in 2006 and the today achievement affirmed our striving efforts. As a service provider, we have to strive more to maintain this title because, by such a way, we can make further leap in the coming phase. In my opinion, e-commerce is a global tendency. If the enterprises grasp and catch up with this tendency, the space and time divides will no longer exist. By then, all communication information will be always running and help us increase the flexibility in business operations. We wish the Vietnam Enterprise Network will hav more interesting programmes to assist Vietnamese businesses to introduce and advertise their products and services not only in the home market but also to the world market.”

“The Vietnamese Enterprise of Prestige – Quality in 2007” title has practical meaning and value for us. Our company specialises in overseas study; thus, this title helps increase the rust of students’ parents in Viet-My Co. This title is also a factor to increase the position of the company based on the standards the company has built. In my opinion, Vietnam is seeing a wave of foreign investment into Vietnam. Meanwhile, the overseas study companies have not been grouped into a professional association. Thus, they have to define development orientations for specific period of time to maintain and expand the market shares. In addition to our own website, we will show our name on other websites to advertise our trademark.”

Phuong Dong Knitting is a State-owned enterprise which is under the process of equitisation. This means that the company will have the full autonomy in business decisions to survive and develop. Thus, the popularisation of the trademark via all available channels is very crucial. Internet has been strongly developed and it will lend a boost to increase global sales. Our participation in the Vietnam Business Network is also to serve our goal of diffusing our Phuong Dong trademark to domestic and foreign customers. On the other hand, the introduction of the products on the internet saves both time and money for both the company and its partners while the efficiency remains. I see that e-commerce is an effective channel to popularise the trademark. The “Vietnamese Enterprise of Prestige – Quality in 2007” title is an honour for Phuong Dong position on the market.
 
Unclear commerciality, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Tuan, Nova Co. Ltd
“This is the second time in a row we win this title. As a supplier of computer parts, we clearly understand the benefits of e-ecommerce. In the past two or three years, e-commerce in Vietnam is strongly developed. In my opinion, the e-commerce will be further developed in the coming time because internet has become a popular communication channel in both rural and urban areas. Hence, this makes e-commerce become an important part in popularising the trademark of the company. However, our infrastructure is not as good as expected; therefore, e-commerce of Vietnam is only limited to popularisation and the commerciality remains unclear. For example, online payment has not been deployed by any service provider to enable buyers to order and pay on the internet to save time and make things easier.”
 
To be more popularised,” Mr. Tran Dang Thanh Kim, Director of Biocare Co. Ltd:
“I see that the Vietnam Business Network’s organisation of the Vietnamese Enterprise of Prestige – Quality in 2007” title for its member companies is a very meaningful activity. This is also the second time we obtained this achievement. In general, the Vietnamenterprises network provides quick access, easy-to-find category arrangement, weblinks to concerned sites and has high number of visits. Vietnam is experiencing the initial step of the e-commerce but the IT infrastructure is not actually good enough. More importantly, the awareness of e-commerce is not very popular. However, I believe the e-commerce will become popular in the coming time.”

I only mention the travel and air ticket booking sectors here. Personally, travel is one of the first to apply e-commerce. The products/services of this sector are only the information and consumers decide against such provided information. Thus, consumes do not need to visit the provider’s place to check those products/services. Moreover, products/services of this sector can be bought in Vietnam as well as in any other places in the world because the internet never takes a rest. However, the online payment remains a hurdle. If we solve this issue, e-commerce in our country will develop very strongly.”
