Japan's Giant Starts Building US$66 Mln Optical Lens Plant in Vietnam

Hoya Lens Ltd, Co., a unit of Japan’s Hoya Group Sept 18 kicked off construction on an eight hectare optical lens-producing factory in the southern Binh Duong province, Vietnam News Agency reported on September 19.
 
Hoya Lens will invest US$66 million into the fist phase of the facility, which will cover an area of 3.5 hectare in the province’s Vietnam-Singapore industrial park II (VSIP II), VNA noted.
 
Once completed, the facility will create 2,300 jobs and all the products will be for exports.
 
VNA, however, did not confirm information about the project’s construction schedule and production capacity.
 
VSIP II, the most appealing place for investors among 16 industrial parks of Binh Duong province, has to date attracted 97 foreign invested projects registered capital of US$1.2 billion. (VNA)
