London-based New World Fashion Group (NWF) will build a US$200 million apparel factory in Vietnam’s northern Hai Duong province, state media cited NWF Chairman Pham Nam as saying.

NWF planned to build a hospital, a school and a residential area here, the Vietnam News Agency reported, adding that the factory will employ 10,000 workers once in place.

The factory will be the first green apparel facility of the U.K. and proves the group’s strong commitment for long terms investment in Vietnam.

Pham Nam noted that his company will sign a memorandum of understanding with Tesco Retail Supermarket Group to build the facility next month. (VNA)
