United States Department of Defense to Support Vietnams Work for AIDS Relief

<div align="justify">Officials from the U.S. Department of Defense working through the Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) will visit and work with Vietnamese Ministry of Defense (MoD) partners to review programs aimed at combating HIV/AIDS in Vietnam. </div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify">The delegation and its MoD partners will be reviewing HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment activities in joint U.S. &ndash Vietnamese programs. The U.S. delegation also hopes to gain a comprehensive understanding on program planning, ution, challenges and achievements in combating HIV/AIDS.</div> <div align="justify"> </div> <div align="justify">PEPFAR projects in Vietnam focus on prevention, care and treatment for both military and civilian populations. The budget for PEPFAR programs managed by the U.S. Department of Defense in 2008 is US$5.3 million, part of the total PEPFAR budget of US$88 million for Vietnam for Fiscal Year 2008.
