According to Vietnam Commercial Affair in the U.S, on July 31st 2008, the American Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced their preliminary verdict on the investigation into the dumping of springs which are imported from China, South Africa and Vietnam.

Accordingly, the DOC reckons that producers/manufacturers from three mentioned above countries are dumping springs in the U.S market at rates of 118.17 – 234.51 percent (China), 121.39 percent (South Africa) and 116.31 percent (Vietnam). Based on these preliminary dumping rates, the DOC will instruct American Customs to collect deposits. Preliminary dumping rates for South Africa and Vietnam are defined on adverse facts available because exporters from these two countries fail to meet the DOC’s requirement to provide information.

It is expected that the DOC will pass a final verdict in October 2008. If the DOC’s verdict confirms dumping and the final verdict of the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) also agrees, then the DOC will issue the anti-dumping regulation.
