Vinacomin Okayed to Explore Two Mineral Mines
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has given a nod to Vinacomin, Vietnam’s top miner, to explore a dolomite mine and a limestone mine in the country.
The dolomite mine is located in Kon Ray district in central highland Kon Tum province while the limestone mine lies in communes of Minh Tam and An Phu in Binh Long district of southern Binh Phuoc province.
Hai noted licensing exploitation of the two mines will be considered only after reports on reserves of the mines are approved by a minerals reserves assessment council.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will coordinate with local authorities in the provinces of Kon Tum and Binh Phuoc to consider related issues to license exploration and exploitation under the existing regulations. (vietstock)
