Govt Nods to Explore Minerals in Two Northern Provinces
The Vietnamese government has given a nod to exploration of iron ore and coal mines in two northern provinces of Yen Bai and Bac Giang.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung November 12 agreed to explore Nui Vi iron ore mine in Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province from this year. The iron ores from the mine are scheduled to supply a cast-iron and steel mill at an industrial park in the south of the province.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai also gave a nod to explore the Thanh Son coal mine site in Son Dong district, Bac Giang province.
The government has assigned local authorities in the two provinces to select enterprises with financial capability and experiences to execute exploration and exploitation of the minerals mines. (vietstock)
