Under permission of National Steering Committee on Information and Technology (NSCIT) and the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC), the Office of National Steering Committee on Information Technology and IDG Vietnam co-organize the 6th annual Vietnam e-Government Symposium (e-Gov 2008) on December 16-17, 2008 at International Convention Centre, Hanoi.
Featuring the theme “Integrating e-Government and Public Administration Reform in Vietnam”, the symposium focuses on changing the mindset, operation and execution strategy of e-Government in close touch with public administration reform rather than administration computerization. E-Government execution, thus, plays an important part in Public Administration Reform towards the best public service for enterprises and citizens as well as higher government performance.
The new e-Government scheme delivers a key difference. Specific objectives will be set for a focused and more independent e-Government executive from public administration reform process. However, to reach those objectives, MIC is bound to converge e-Government and Administration Reform and make sure that e-Government follows and facilitates Administration Reform.
Moreover, it is the first e-Government symposium that focuses on integrating e-Government and public administration reform. More than 40 presentations of delegates from MIC, National Steering Committee of Public Administration Reform, Government Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology and international experts will bring out comprehensive insights and best practices of e-Government locally and internationally.
Alongside with the symposium, an exhibition of technology solutions, products for e-Government execution will present leading international groups & companies as Nortel, Cisco, Jaspers, and Nod32. The organizers expect to welcome 1,000 target conference attendees, including Government leadership, representatives of ministries, directors and vice directors of Department for information & communications, representatives of corporations, enterprises and associations in IT industry.
