PVTrans to Receive Vietnam's Biggest Oil Tanker
PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans), an affiliate of the state-owned oil monopoly PetroVietnam group, said that it is preparing to receive Vietnam's biggest oil tanker to facilitate crude oil transportation at the first oil refinery Dung Quat.
The PVT Athena tanker; with tonnage of 105,000 tons, 243 meters in length, 42 meters in width, and 22 meters in height; is capable of transporting not only crude oil but also refined oil products, PVTrans said.
Earlier, the corporation received another oil vessel with tonnage of 33,000 tons to convey refined oil products made by the oil refinery.
Along with receiving two aforementioned tankers, PVTrans has owned nine oil vessels with a combined capacity of 400,000 tons.
PV Trans expects to gain 30 per cent market share of crude oil transportation and plans to invest US$2.25 billion to purchase 20 more tankers between now and 2015. (Youth, Young People)
