Malaysia King to Visit Vietnam This Week

Malaysian King Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah and his wife will pay a visit to Vietnam this week in order to boost bilateral friendship and multi-faceted ties at the invitation of President Nguyen Minh Triet.
 
The Malaysian King’s visit will be made in the context of the bilateral friendship and all-rounded cooperation in economics, trade, investment, labor and oil and gas fields, the government of Vietnam has said on its Website.
 
Malaysia is the ninth biggest trade partner with Vietnam. Two-way trade was US$4.45 billion, up 23.7 per cent on year, of which, Vietnam shipped US$2.6 billion and imported US$1.95 billion, the government said.
 
In terms of FDI, Malaysia invested 302 projects with registered capital of US$17.79 billion, ranking the second among countries and territories investing in Vietnam.
 
Currently, Malaysia is home to 110,000 Vietnamese workers. (www.chinhphu.vn)
