The Swedish government has already ratified a cooperative strategy with Vietnam in the period from 2009 till 2013, the Swedish Embassy in Hanoi just announced.

Under the strategy, all non-refundable aid projects on the framework of development assistance Sweden has spent for Vietnam over the past years will be pushed up to possibly complete in 2012.

Vietnam has reached the fast economic growth over recent years and set to become a medium-income nation by 2020.

The new strategy, thus, has been built towards an equal partner cooperation relationship between the two countries.

The Swedish side, however, also expressed the necessity of finishing development assistance programs effectively and firmly.

Therefore, the new strategy still include some alternative cooperative activities focusing on main fields of democracy/human rights, anti-corruption, environmental protection and climate change prevention.

In parallel with those, the two sides will pay attention to partnership relations in the sectors of health, research and invention, economy and trade initially. (Investment)
