Vietnam PM to Visit China Soon
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung is expected to visit China soon to attend the Boao Forum for Asia at the invitation of the Chinese government, the state-run Vietnam News Agency said, quoting Chinese Councillor Dai Bingguo.
Chinese Councillor Dai conveyed the invitation to the Vietnamese prime minister on the occasion of official celebration of the borderland demarcation, the agency noted.
Chinese and Vietnamese leaders are expected to work together to overcome the fallout of the global economic crisis in each country, the agency said.
Hanoi and Beijing have officially marked completion of the 1,400 kilometer border and vowed to build a border of peace, friendship and long-term stability.
This year, the two communist countries will sign a protocol on border demarcation, a treaty on border management regulations and other relevant documents.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and China exceeded US$17 billion in the first ten months last year, up 43.4% on year, according to the Vietnam Trade Information Center under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
As July last year, Chinese investors invested into 606 projects with total registered capital of US$2 billion, ranking the 12th among countries and territories investing into Vietnam.
