Vietnam PM to Attend ASEAN Summit in Thailand

The Vietnamese prime minister will lead a delegation to take part in the 14th ASEAN summit scheduled for Feb 28 to March 1 in Cha Am-Hua Hin of Thailand with aims to form ASEAN Community by 2015, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
 
The summit will be held with the theme “ASEAN Charter for Sakes of People,” the ministry said, but did not specify members of the delegation.
 
The event is to be organized in the context of the whole bloc is moving to new stage of development with aims to set up the community by 2010 and activities based on the Charter, the ministry said.
 
The bloc of ASEAN now accounts for nearly 35 per cent of Vietnam’s total import turnover and 16 per cent of the total export market share, state media said. (Saigon Liberation)
