Vietnam to Expand Economics, Trade Ties with Switzerland, Austria
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai is leading a high-profile government delegation to pay a visit from February 7 in order to beef up economics, trade promotion cooperation with the two central European countries.
Deputy PM Hai is scheduled to attend a business conference on Vietnam by UNCTAD in Geneve. At the event, UNCTAD will release analytical reports on Vietnam's policies in enticing foreign investors as well as pointed out challenges to be addressed.
Hai and Vietnamese delegation will take part in a roundtable conference on Vietnam's investment potentials with Swiss leading companies.
During the time in Austria, Hai will meet with Austrian officials to discuss measures to boost exports and investments.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Austria jumped 25 per cent to US$175 million in 2007. Vietnam's main exports to Austria include footwear, apparels.
Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Switzerland expanded 32 per cent in the first ten months of 2008. (chinhphu.vn)
