Dong Deposit Interest Rate Peaked at 8.4 per cent/Yr in Vietnam

Commercial banks in Vietnam are continuously raising VND deposit interest rate with the ceiling level offered by Hanoi Building Commercial JS Bank (Habubank) at 8.4 per cent per annum.

 

On March 10, Habubank reported that it will officially adjust the savings interest rate in VND for interest paid at maturity, interest paid on a monthly basis, and interest paid on a quarterly basis up around 0.1-0.9 percentage point.

 

Specifically, for year-end interest payments, Habubank will apply new interest rates of 8.2 per cent per annum for 12-month terms and 8.4 per cent for 24-month terms.

 

The South East Asia Bank (SeABank) is now applying the new interest rate ceiling of 7.8 per cent for 12 and 13-month terms. While Maritime Bank is also increasing savings interest rates in VND to 7.5 per cent per annum for one-month terms and to 8 per cent per annum for 12-month terms. (chinhphu.vn)
